Civic Holiday in Barrie: Affected Services

(Barrie, ON) A number of services are affected by holiday weekends. The following City services will be affected on Monday, August 3:

Barrie Transit

Barrie Transit is running on a Sunday hourly service schedule on August 3.

Curbside Collection

There will be nogarbage, organics, recycling and yard waste collection on Monday, August 3 in Barrie. Collection during the week of this holiday will occur one day later for the remainder of the week. Materials must be curbside by 7 a.m. on your collection day. During Environment Canada-declared severe heat and humidity warnings, the City's waste contractor will start curbside collection at 5:30 a.m. Notification of early collection start time will be posted on the City's website, Facebook and Twitter, by 5 p.m. the day prior to each impacted collection day. Please put your waste curbside after 7 p.m. the night before during heat warnings.

Note: The landfill is closed every Sunday and Monday.

City Hall

Barrie City Hall will be closed on August 3. 

Activities

The following city amenities are open: playgrounds, waterfront outdoor fitness equipment, disc golf course, community gardens, beaches, splash pads, sports fields and courts (except for beach volleyball courts), Lampman Lane and Queen's Park skate parks, parks and trails.
