Outdoor amenities and marina to re-open Saturday

(Barrie, ON) Effective Saturday, May 22, 2021 the Province is lifting restrictions for outdoor amenities with restrictions in place, such as the need to maintain physical distancing. City of Barrie outdoor sports fields, baseball diamonds, beach volleyball courts, basketball courts, tennis courts, skateboard parks and pickleball courts will be open for casual recreational use within the current restrictions on physical distancing and maximum groupings of five people.

The tennis courts at Queen's Park, Lennox, Eastview Community Park, and East Bayfield along with the pickleball courts at Painswick and Redpath will be open and ready for use on Saturday. None of the courts and fields will be available for bookings due to ongoing restrictions prohibiting use by sport leagues, events and tournaments.

The City's Marina, gas dock and boat launches will also open Saturday, including the Bayfield Street Bayfield Basin Transient Marina.
