This Neighbourhood Meeting is your first opportunity to hear about a proposed development from the applicant, understand the City’s planning approval process and timelines and give you the chance to ask questions. This is a preliminary meeting to provide residents with information before the application is reviewed by City staff and considered by City Council. A Statutory Public Meeting will be scheduled at a later date, in accordance with the Planning Act. Barrie-Bryne Developments Limited is seeking input from the public on a proposed Amendment to the Official Plan and Zoning By-law for lands known municipally as 15 Harvie Road in the City of Barrie. The project will encompass a large parcel of vacant land, generally located west of Highway 400, south of Harvie Road, and will include an extension of Bryne Drive. The overall design of the subject property includes Residential and Commercial/Industrial land designations, the extension of Bryne Drive, the existing hydro easement, a park, two stormwater management ponds, and blocks to protect the existing natural heritage features. The proposal is intended to facilitate the development of 743 residential units to the west of the Bryne Drive extension and approximately 48,000m2 of commercial/industrial gross floor area east of the Bryne Drive extension adjacent Highway 400. The Neighbourhood Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 starting at 5:00 p.m., ending no later than 6:30 p.m. With the current restrictions on public gatherings due to COVID-19, this neighbourhood meeting will be held in a virtual forum with electronic participation via ZOOM.
