About the Proposed Development

The site is located on the west side of Essa Road, north of the intersection of Ferndale Drive South and Veteran’s Drive.  The lands are approximately 0.276 hectares (0.67 acres) in area and are currently vacant.

The Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) approved a Zoning By-law Amendment to re-zone the subject lands from ‘Residential Multiple Dwelling Second Density with Special Provision, Hold’ (RM2)(SP-562)(H-138) to ‘Mixed Use Corridor with Special Provisions’ (MU2)(SP-X) which will facilitate the development of a 7 storey mixed use building with 97 residential condominium units and 4 ground floor commercial units. 

The site was subject to a previous approval for sixteen (16) townhouse units by the then Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) on March 10, 2021.
