There are 60+ categories for business licence application forms. Please view the categories outlined in the Business Licensing (General) By-law or Business Licensing (Transportation) By-law to determine if your business requires a licence.
A licence will not be issued until all required approvals, inspections, and documents have been submitted by the applicant, business licence fees have been paid in full, and all taxes are paid up-to-date.
How to apply for a General Business Licence
If your business is listed in the Business Licensing (General) By-law, submit your business licence application online via APLI, the City's online application tool for Barrie's most popular permits, licences and inspection requests:
- Visit APLI to complete your application.
If you have a current profile in APLI, you will have access to the business licence application process. If you are new to APLI, please start by creating a profile. - Whether this is a first-time application or a renewal, the application must be completed as a “NEW” application.
How to apply for a Transportation Business Licence
If your business is listed in the Business Licensing (Transportation) By-law, such as a Taxi Company, Personal Transportation Company, Driver for Hire Company, or Limousine Company, your application must be submitted in person at Enforcement Service (45 Cedar Pointe Drive).
There are two options to obtain an application form:
- Attend the Enforcement Services counter (45 Cedar Pointe Drive)
