Court Services | Services Judiciaires

The City of Barrie's Court Services Branch provides administrative services for matters before the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Offences Court, for all municipalities within the County of Simcoe under an agreement between the City of Barrie and the Ministry of the Attorney General.

The City operated an Administrative Penalty System for Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) violations in Barrie, as opposed to filing a charge with the Provincial Offences Court. All ASE matters have now been processed.

  • For Penalty Orders sent to ServiceOntario: If your Penalty Order has been sent to ServiceOntario for non-payment, you must pay ServiceOntario directly. Your Penalty Order can no longer be appealed and City of Barrie Court Services staff can no longer take your payment.
  • For Penalty Orders not yet sent to ServiceOntario: Penalty Orders not yet sent to ServiceOntario can still be paid in full through the City of Barrie Court Services office to avoid the $20 late fee and the inability to renew your vehicle licence plate or obtain a new one. If you are unsure if your Penalty Order has been sent to ServiceOntario for non-payment, you may contact the City of Barrie at 705-739-4280, option 1.
