The Barrie Public Library’s downtown branch blends striking brick arches with a distinct, sweeping rotunda entrance. Sunlight floods its multi-level design, illuminating expansive glass walls and open reading spaces. This civic anchor is where historic downtown charm meets a forward-looking, light-filled community hub. Explore the facilities and enjoy Culture Days programming, including afternoon Chinese and Brazilian dance workshops.
As part of Forest Week, City of Barrie Forestry staff will offer educational resources, tree and wildflower giveaways, and information about Barrie's urban forest. Visit the Forest Week booth at the library from 10am to 2pm.
About Doors Open Barrie
Doors Open Barrie invites you to explore local sites of interest through free public tours on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Doors Open Barrie is hosted by Creative Barrie, part of the City's Recreation & Culture Services Department's culture branch, in partnership with the City’s Heritage Committee and the Ontario Heritage Trust. Doors Open Barrie is once again paired with City’s Culture Days programming, providing a unique opportunity to present free, hands-on arts activities in Doors Open sites, giving you a chance to learn about Barrie’s arts, heritage and business community.
