Barrie's beaches and splash pads offer residents and visitors opportunities to beat the summer heat!
The Lampman Lane Park state-of-the-art splash pad and the Heritage Park water feature are closed for the season.
Four main beaches on the shores of beautiful Kempenfelt Bay are regularly maintained by the City:
- Centennial Beach, 65 Lakeshore Drive
Lifeguards off duty for the season as of September 1, 2023 - Johnson’s Beach, 2 Johnson Street
Lifeguards off duty for the season as of August 21, 2023 - Minet’s Point Beach, 10 Lismer Boulevard
No lifeguards - Tyndale Beach, 45 Tyndale Road
No lifeguards
Parents and guardians are always reminded that children require direct supervision at the beach. Always practise water safety.
At Centennial Beach and Johnson’s Beach, where lifeguards on duty, signs are posted behind each lifeguard chair to communicate when lifeguards are on duty. Swim buoy lines and drop-off markers are anchored out from the beach. The swim buoy lines mark the designated swimming areas recommended for swimmers.
