Mayor, Council & Committees

Barrie City Council is the policy-forming and decision-making body of the City of Barrie.  Council members are also members of General Committee and select reference committees. In addition, City Council has established advisory committees and task forces to ensure further opportunities for public input into community decision-making.

The City is experiencing intermittent technical difficulties with its agenda and meeting software. While the vendor works to correct the issue, meeting agendas and minutes are also being published on the Council & Committee Meetings webpage.

On December 3, 2022, members of City Council met at City Hall to discuss the development of their strategic priorities for the 2022-2026 term. At the session, Council identified five goals that will guide the strategic direction for the City over the next four years.
