This mosaic mural was facilitated through a partnership between the Rotary Club of Barrie and the City of Barrie. It is intended to beautify the former Trans Canada Trail Pavilion located near Barrie's Tiffin Boat Launch.

Regionally-based artists Angela Aujla and Meg Leslie collaborated on this artwork and its theme. Aujla drew the illustration and Leslie created hand-formed and hand-glazed porcelain tiles. It was installed on-site by the artists with support from Barrie’s Parks Planning team. The design was inspired by Kempenfelt Bay and its role as a habitat for wildlife and plants. Themes of ecology, conservation, and the stewardship of our natural environment emerge from the image integrating human, animal and plant species.

Mother Nature was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Barrie. The artwork was endorsed by the Barrie Public Art Committee (BPAC) and is on display as part of the City of Barrie’s temporary public art program.

BPAC’s goal is to enhance Barrie with art and encourage residents and visitors alike to visit public spaces. Made up of volunteers from the art and design industry and interested community members, BPAC secures art by commissioning new works, facilitating donations, and organizing temporary installations.
