Please note: The second Family Fright Fest event on Wednesday, October 19 was cancelled. The Sadlon Arena space is required on this day to prepare for the funeral service for Constable Morgan Russell and Constable Devon Michael Northrup.
Family Fright Fest is an evolution of the City’s former Ghost Bus Tour, building on its popularity and success with added elements inside and around Sadlon Arena to enhance the experience.
In addition to celebrating the season with Family Fright Fest, the City is also hosting Halloween-themed skates and swims at recreation/community centres during the week of October 24 leading up to Halloween.
Family Fright Fest activities at the Sadlon Arena include:
- Photo booth
- Fire pit
- Haunted house
- Scary storytime on a bus
- Halloween-themed skate: 5pm to 6pm
- Crafts and games
The event will also feature a costume contest! Dressed-up participants will be entered in a draw to win an exciting prize. If choosing to dress up, participants are encouraged to ensure costumes are suitable for a family-friendly environment.
All activities are free and suitable for all ages. Parents/guardians are encouraged to use personal discretion when deciding to participate in Family Fright Fest. Although geared towards a family audience, some activities may be too scary for some participants.
The City is seeking volunteers to assist in Family Fright Fest, from 4:30 to 8:30pm on October 18. This opportunity is open to those 14 years of age or older. Those interested can email email@example.com.
