The 2023 Waterfront Strategic Plan plan replaced the 2015 Waterfront and Marina Strategic Plan and excludes an update to the marina portion of the plan. The Marina Strategic Plan was an appendix to the 2015 Waterfront and Marina Strategic Plan and is now considered a stand-alone document.
The Marina Strategic Plan includes:
- development and clarification of the City’s Marina mandate to become an economic and tourism destination.
- review of the marina business model.
- development of a long term strategic plan; development of conceptual designs for the possible marina expansion including the Spirit Catcher open space.
- consideration of operational and safety issues; recommendations regarding the Sea Cadets facility.
- assessment of the impacts of the City’s marina for future development, considering marina proposals within the study limits.
