(Barrie, ON) – With plans announced to pause Snowbirds performances after the 2026 flying season, this summer’s Barrie Airshow offers a rare opportunity to experience one of Canada’s most iconic aerial teams before they step away for several years.
The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will headline the 2026 Barrie Airshow, presented by Pratt Homes, performing along the shores of Kempenfelt Bay on June 13 and 14.
“With the Snowbirds set to pause performances after the 2026 season, this will be one of the last chances for families to experience this iconic team in action for several years,” said Alex Nuttall. “We are thrilled to welcome the Snowbirds back to Barrie for what is shaping up to be an unforgettable weekend on our waterfront and one of the most exciting airshows our community has seen in years.”
The Snowbirds have thrilled audiences for more than 50 years, showcasing precision flying and inspiring Canadians coast to coast. As their current aircraft (CT-114 Tutor) approach the end of their service life, the 2026 season is expected to mark the final stretch of performances before a pause while a new fleet is introduced.
The Barrie Airshow is a signature waterfront event that celebrates aviation, honours Canada’s military heritage, and brings the community together through a free, family-friendly experience. Featuring impressive aerial performances and highlighting Barrie’s connection to the Royal Canadian Air Force and CFB Borden, it attracts thousands of visitors and supports local tourism.
This year’s event will also feature a special Saturday evening twilight show and a fireworks finale, adding to a full weekend of activities for all ages.
