(Barrie, ON) – The City of Barrie today announced a new purpose-built rental housing development brought forward by Black Creek Group that will deliver 268 new rental units, including 54 affordable units at 17 Sophia St.
“Council has made increasing the supply of affordable housing a priority,” said Mayor Alex Nuttall. “The 54 affordable units at 17 Sophia Street are part of the more than 770 affordable homes approved across our city, and this project reflects the strong partnership between the City and Black Creek Group to deliver more housing for Barrie residents.”

These 54 affordable units are part of more than 770 affordable units approved by Council across the city through continued investment, strong partnerships, and housing incentive programs.
