(Barrie, ON) – Environment Canada is advising of the potential for severe weather, including thunderstorms and the risk of tornadoes, today across Southern Ontario, including Barrie.
Any impacts to City services will be shared on barrie.ca, as well as on X (@cityofbarrie) and Facebook (@cityofbarrie).
The City encourages residents to be prepared for severe weather by:
- Having a 72-hour emergency kit ready, including drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit, and flashlights.
- Bringing outdoor furniture and objects indoors or securing them.
- Secure yard waste (tree branches, limbs) and loose items.
- Keep your vehicle fueled up.
- Be prepared for possible power outages by ensuring mobile phones are charged and flashlights are on hand.
- Creating and reviewing their family emergency plan.
