Barrie, ON – The City is holding a series of open houses for homeowners and contractors to learn about building and renovating in Barrie. Attendees can find out how to apply for a permit, what to expect during the plan review process, and how to prepare for building inspections. City staff will be available to answer project-specific building or renovation questions and many project resources will be available for pickup.
The open houses are taking place select Thursday evenings (6 to 8 p.m.) at the following recreation/community centres:
- March 5, Peggy Hill Team Community Centre (171 Mapleton Ave.)
- April 2, East Bayfield Community Centre (80 Livingstone St. E)
- May 7, Allandale Recreation Centre (190 Bayview Dr.)
- June 4, Peggy Hill Team Community Centre (171 Mapleton Ave.)
The open houses are free to attend and no registration is required.
Residents can also have their building or home renovation questions answered by City staff by emailing ServiceBarrie@barrie.ca, calling 705-726-4242, or visiting in person at City Hall (70 Collier Street.)
