City hosts Building Services Open House May 1

Barrie, ON – Barrie homeowners and contractors are invited to drop in to the Building Services Open House on Thursday, May 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Dorian Parker Centre (227 Sunnidale Road).

At the event, attendees can learn about building permits and inspections from City staff and pick up building project resources related to home renovation projects. 

“Ahead of renovation season, we encourage residents to come and learn more about building and renovating in Barrie,” says Paul Evans, Chief Building Official. “Whether you’re building a pool, deck or shed, planning an addition or thinking of a home renovation, the City has the resources and expertise to support you with the construction of your project.”

This is a free event (no registration required). 

May 1 also marks the start of Building Safety Month. Building Services at the City ensures the buildings in Barrie are safe.
