(Barrie, ON) – The City of Barrie is recognizing Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day today, Wednesday, March 18.
Barrie Transit operates under a contract with MVT Canadian Bus Inc. MVT employs approximately 200 staff to operate a fleet of 46 Conventional and 22 Specialized buses, as well as two electric buses.
“Whether you’re helping residents get to work, visit loved ones, make it to appointments, or simply complete their everyday errands, your dedication keeps Barrie moving every day,” said Mayor Alex Nuttall. “We appreciate all that you do. Happy Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day.”
Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day is an opportunity to recognize and say thank you to the operators, mechanics, cleaners, planners, and others working behind the scenes who keep transit running safely and smoothly, across Barrie.
