(Barrie, ON) – The City of Barrie invites residents to join the conversation around how the City will plan its future transportation network at the second Public Information Centre for the Transportation Master Plan update.
A Transportation Master Plan serves as the City’s roadmap in developing a well-balanced transportation network to serve its future needs and development. The current Transportation Master Plan was last updated in 2019. This new update will support Barrie’s forecasted population and employment growth to 2051.
The event will take place on Thursday, September 18 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at General John Hayter Southshore Community Centre (205 Lakeshore Drive, Barrie). Project team members will be on-hand to answer questions and discuss thoughts on how Barrie should plan its future transportation network.
The event is a drop-in style format with informational display panels that will:
- Provide an update on the study process and progress to date
- Share feedback gathered from the public
- Present and discuss different transportation network options
- Ask for input on the proposed alternatives and how they’re being evaluated
- Outline next steps and future opportunities to get involved
In addition to the event, there are other ways to provide input which include submitting a comment through the online feedback form, posting a comment on the map, using the idea board or submitting a question.
