_TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of the City of Barrie is in receipt of a complete application as of Wednesday, May 13, 2020 for a proposed Official Plan Amendment and Amendment to the Zoning By-law. MHBC Planning Limited on behalf of Huronia Barrie Land Inc. has submitted complete applications for an Official Plan Amendment and Amendment to the Zoning By-law for the lands known municipally as521 Huronia Road. The site is approximately 6.2 ha in size and located south of Loon Avenue to the east of Huronia Road
About the application(s)
The applications are to facilitate the development of a 1.3ha portion of the subject property for residential use. The lands are generally located south of Loon Avenue with access provided from a new road connecting to Huronia Road. The current land use designation is General Industrial, so the lands are subject to an analysis for Employment Land Conversion. The proposed concept includes 104 residential townhouse units.

Public Meeting to be scheduled
A public meeting will be scheduled at a later date. Due to COVID-19 restrictions on public gatherings, a virtual public meeting will be held with electronic participation. It will be televised on Rogers TV and will be livestreamed on the City'sYouTube Channel.
If you wish to provide oral comments at the virtual public meeting, please register in advance by emailing:cityclerks@barrie.ca or calling 705-730-4220 x5500 during regular office hours. Once you register, you will be provided information from the Legislative Services Branch on how to make your submission at the virtual public meeting with electronic participation. To participate in the virtual planning meeting, you will need access to a computer with internet service or a telephone.
Notification of the Amendment to the Zoning By-law if adopted by Council, will be provided upon written request to the undersigned file manager in the Development Services Department – Planning Division.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions to the Corporation of The City of Barrie before the Draft Plan of Subdivision and Rezoning is passed:The person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Corporation of The City of Barrie to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal ; andmay not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Council of The Corporation of the City of Barrie in respect of the proposed Official Plan Amendment and Amendment to the Zoning By-law, you must make a written submission to the undersigned and the Planning and Building Services Department.
