TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of the City of Barrie is in receipt of a complete application as of Friday, February 19, 2021 for a proposed Amendment to the Zoning By-law.

TAKE NOTICE that Mitchinson Planning & Development Consultants Inc. on behalf of 2012292 Ontario Ltd., PBM Realty Holdings Inc., have submitted a complete application for an Amendment to the Zoning By-law for the lands known municipally as 217 Dunlop Street East, Barrie. The site is 0.2 hectares (0.49 acres) and is currently vacant.See key map.

The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment seeks to amend the current split zoning from ‘Transition Centre Commercial - 1’ (C2-1) and a small portion on the west of ‘Central Area Commercial’ (C1-1) to ‘Transition Centre Commercial - 1’ with Special Provisions (C2-1 SP-XXX).

The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment would facilitate the development of a 41 unit, 15 storey building with 402 square metres of ground floor commercial space and associated underground parking.

A public meeting will be scheduled for spring 2021, at which time any person may make representation at the meeting, however, written submissions to Legislative and Court Services are encouraged. Notification of the Amendment to the Zoning By-law, if adopted by Council will be provided upon written request to the City Clerk.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions to the Corporation of the City of Barrie in respect of the proposed Amendment to the Zoning By-law before the Corporation of the City of Barrie gives or refuses to give approval to the proposed Amendment:

(a) the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Corporation of The City of Barrie to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal; and

(b) the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

If you wish to be notified of the decisions of the Council of The Corporation of the City of Barrie in respect of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment, you must make a written submission to the undersigned orcityclerks@barrie.ca.
