Take Notice of a Decision of the Council of The Corporation of the City of Barrie to adopt By-law Number 2026-023 on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 pursuant to the provisions of Section 17(23) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, and pursuant of O. Reg. 198/96(3).
The purpose of this Official Plan Amendment is to amend the Official Plan 2051 (May 2024) to be consistent with the Provincial Planning Statement (2024). The new Provincial Planning Statement, 2024 (PPS 2024). The PPS 2024 came into effect on October 20, 2024, and replaces the Provincial Policy Statement, 2020 and A Place to Grow: Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, 2019. The Official Plan must be consistent with the new Provincial Planning Statement, 2024 (PPS 2024), therefore revisions and updates to the policies are required.
IF YOU WISH TO APPEAL the decision of the City of Barrie to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) in respect to the By-law, you may do so within twenty (20) days of the issuance of this notice by filing a Notice of Appeal via the OLT e-file at https://olt.gov.on.ca/e-file-service/ by selecting [City of Barrie] as the Approval Authority or by mail to the City Clerk – City of Barrie, no later than 4:30 p.m. on or before Wednesday, April 15, 2026 . The filing of an appeal after 4:30 p.m., in person or electronically, will be deemed to have been received the next business day.
