Project ScopeThe City of Barrie Infrastructure Department has completed the detail design to repair and stabilize the eroding slope along Lovers Creek adjacent to Brunton Park. Construction is being planned for the Summer, 2022. The general study area is presented on the figure below.
Project Highlights:Construction of an Armourstone wall to stabilize the creek bank, and restore the regraded slope;Planting of a vegetated toe buttress to provide shade to the creek and prevent future erosion;Realigning and restoration of the creek, including a natural channel design along the bed and banks; andPlantings and naturalization of the slope.Project Schedule
The construction is schedule for Summer 2022, pending permitting and approvals.Purpose of Notice (Public Information Centre)
Due to the current restrictions on gatherings, we will not be having a typical in person Public Information Center (PIC), however we want to ensure your questions regarding the design and construction are answered. We will be posting a presentation to the City website that will provide you with information about the project. A digital comment sheet will also be available.
The presentation materials will be posted to the City of Barrie website on September 9, 2021.
