TAKE NOTICE THAT pursuant to By-law Number 2022-042, being a By-law of the Corporation of the City of Barrie to provide for the delegation of authority to remove a Holding (H) Symbol from Zoning By-law 2024-081 as per Section 36(4) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13.

THE SUBJECT LANDS are described as: Part Lots 7 & 8, North side Rose Street on Plan 114, being Part 2 on Plan 51R-42272, in the City of Barrie, County of Simcoe and municipally known as: 20 Rose Street, Barrie. The subject lands are zoned ‘Institutional – Special Provision, Hold’ (I)(SP-666)(H-169), as per Zoning By-law 2024-081 and are shown on the key map below.

THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the removal of the Holding (H) Symbol from the subject lands is to allow the Owner/Applicant to develop the lands in accordance with current By-law standards by permitting the proposed development of a mixed-use building which includes a range of affordable and rent geared to income housing units and non-residential community hub uses, including a day care, community program room and kitchen and other public service facilities on existing municipal servicing infrastructure and public facilities. The Holding (H) Symbol relates to the requirement for the owner/applicant to undertake and agree to satisfy the requirements of a Certificate of Property Use and/or Record of Site Condition, as accepted by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks under the Environmental Protection Act, prior to any site works or issuance of a building permit.
