TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Barrie has passed By-law Number 2025-066 on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 pursuant to the provision of Section 34(18) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 c. P.13.
AND TAKE NOTICE that By-law Number 2025-066 is in accordance with Direction Number MDIR007-25, under Bill 3, the Strong Mayors, Building Homes Act, 2022, in accordance with subsections 284.11.1(1)(b) and 284.11.1(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001.
THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of By-law Number 2025-066 is to amend Town of Innisfil By-law 054-04 and City of Barrie By-law Number 2009-141 to rezone lands owned by: 16906745 Canada Inc., described as: Part Lot 3, Concession 11 (Innisfil), in the City of Barrie and municipally known as: 264 Salem Road from ‘Residential Rural’ (RR) and ‘Environmental Protection’ (EP) in Town of Innisfil By-law 054-04 to ‘Neighbourhood Residential’ (R5) and ‘Environmental Protection’ (EP) in City of Barrie By-law 2009-141.
A copy of the By-law is available for viewing in the office of the City Clerk between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. A key map is provided with this Notice showing the location of the lands affected by By-law Number 2025-066.
IF YOU WISH TO APPEAL the decision of the City of Barrie to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) in respect to the By-law, you may do so within twenty (20) days of the issuance of this notice by filing a Notice of Appeal via the OLT e-file at https://olt.gov.on.ca/e-file-service/ by selecting [City of Barrie] as the Approval Authority or by mail to the City Clerk – City of Barrie, no later than 4:30 p.m. on or before Wednesday, July 23, 2025 . The filing of an appeal after 4:30 p.m., in person or electronically, will be deemed to have been received the next business day. If the e-file portal is down, you can submit your appeal to: OLT.submissions@barrie.ca. Please consult the Ontario Land Tribunal’s website (https://olt.gov.on.ca/) or call 1-866-448-2248 for further information regarding how to file an appeal.
