(Barrie, ON) – The City of Barrie is now accepting applications for its annual Arts and Culture Investment Program, which provides funding to not-for-profit arts and culture organizations. Eligible organizations include those in performing arts (theatre, dance, music), visual arts, arts service, new media, or heritage, who are based in Barrie.
Last year, the Arts & Culture Investment Program supported 16 local organizations in delivering arts and cultural experiences for Barrie residents and visitors.
2026 funding is available to eligible arts and culture organizations in the following operational streams:
- registered not-for-profit organizations with budgets of $75,000 or more
- registered not-for-profit organizations with budgets of less than $75,000
As well, there are grants of up to $5,000 for available for not-for-profit arts and culture organizations (who have been in operation for at least one year), in two other streams:
- Project stream: projects that expand access to creative experiences across Barrie
- Capacity building stream: for professional development initiatives that strengthen administrative and management capacity in the arts
The City is hosting two online information sessions for interested applicants; please register in advance. These sessions will explain the program's priorities and eligibility criteria, as well as the application process:
- Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (register to attend)
- Monday, January 5, 2026, from 3 to 5 p.m. (register to attend)
