(Barrie, ON) –The City is updating its current Transportation Master Plan and invites residents to attend the third Public Information Centre (PIC) on the study to learn about the project and provide feedback.
A Transportation Master Plan serves as the City’s roadmap in developing a transportation network to meet its future growth and development needs. The current Transportation Master Plan was last updated in 2019. This new update will support Barrie’s forecasted population and employment growth to 2051.
The public meeting will take place on Thursday, June 18 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall (in the Sir Robert Barrie Room, 2nd Floor, 70 Collier Street, Barrie).
The meeting will be held in a drop in format with informational panels on display. Project team members will be available to answer questions and gather feedback on Barrie’s future transportation network. The team will:
- Provide an overview of the Transportation Master Plan study and development process;
- Share key feedback received from the previous Public Information Centres;
- Seek feedback on the recommended multi-modal network and network evaluation process;
- Provide an overview of supportive policy initiatives and gather input; and
- Indicate next steps and opportunities for engagement.
The City has previously hosted two PICs on the Transportation Master Plan update.
For residents unable to attend the PIC, the material presented at the meeting, and online feedback opportunities, will be available after the meeting at BuildingBarrie.ca/TransportationMasterPlan.
