In 2025, Barrie City Council approved a lease agreement for a new community library located at 420 Leacock Drive. The approximately 4,800 square foot branch will be known as the Letitia Heights Branch, reflecting the surrounding community.
Purpose and Benefits
The new branch will help improve access to library services for residents in northwest Barrie and support:
- Literacy and lifelong learning
- Community connection and engagement
- Access to programs, services, and collections close to home
Barrie Public Library has identified a strong need for a branch in this area and is designing the space to reflect community priorities identified through consultation.
