City invites submissions for Mayor’s Innovation Awards trophy design

Barrie, ON – The City of Barrie is inviting submissions from local artists and graphic designers, as well as residents, businesses, organizations and not-for-profits located in Barrie, to create a trophy design for the 8th annual Mayor’s Innovation Awards.

The selected artist will receive $1,000 to develop the trophy design. Artwork must incorporate the Mayor’s Innovation Awards logo, be suitable for public display, and reflect the theme of Innovation in BarrieThe winning design will be fabricated by the Georgian College Makerspace

Interested artists must submit:

  • Up to three concept images of the proposed trophy design
  • A one-page artist statement or video submission
  • Up to three examples of relevant previous work

The submission deadline is 5 p.m. on October 20, 2026. The original design can be created in any medium; however, the selected design must be provided as a digital file suitable for fabrication.
