Barrie, ON – The Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s (MTO) contractor for the Dunlop Street bridge replacement project will implement two closures beginning September 28, 2026. These closures are required for culvert work, grading and realignment activities on Dunlop Street West and Cedar Pointe Drive.
Cedar Pointe Drive at Dunlop Street West will be fully closed from September 28 to November 27, 2026. Businesses on Cedar Pointe Drive will remain open and can be accessed via Edgehill Drive or Leacock Drive during construction. Detours will direct traffic from Dunlop Street West via Ferndale and Edgehill Drive.
The Highway 400 southbound on ramp from westbound Dunlop Street West will be closed from Monday, September 28, to Friday, November 13, 2026. The detour will direct traffic to Highway 400 via Ferndale Drive, Ardagh Road, and Essa Road.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and follow posted signage.
This work is part of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s ongoing Highway 400 project, which includes constructing a new, expanded bridge crossing at Dunlop Street over Highway 400 and widening the interchange to support future expansion of Highway 400.
