The Canvas for Change program celebrates the artistic talents of Black youth who use art to amplify their voices.

Led by artist mentor & youth facilitator Ashante Blackwood, she guides them in conceptualizing, communicating, and visually representing their ideas that are meant to highlight their unique perspectives and stories, aimed at sparking important conversations about anti-racism within the community. Open to youth aged 13- 18.

The partnership is with the MacLaren Art Centre, and funding support for this project comes from the City of Barrie Arts & Culture grant and Alectra Utilities.
