Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.

Open House

Immediately prior to the Public Meeting, an Open House will be held in the City Hall Rotunda from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Planning staff, the applicant and/or their consultant will be available to discuss the application and review the proposed plans. The Open House is drop-in style with no formal presentations.  No decisions on the proposal will be made at the Open House or the Public Meeting.

About the application

The Planning Committee will review an application for an Amendment to the Zoning By-law submitted by Celeste Phillips Planning Inc., on behalf of 428 Little Inc., for lands located at428 Little Avenue and 237 Foster Drive.

The subject lands are designated Residential in accordance with the City's Official Plan; and are currently zoned Residential Single Detached Dwelling First Density (R1), Residential Single Detached Dwelling Second Density (R2), Residential Single Detached Dwelling Third Density (R3), and Residential Single Detached Dwelling Fourth Density (R4) in accordance with the Zoning By-law 2009-141. The owner has applied to amend the current Zoning of the property to reconfigure the existing land use designation over the subject lands to accommodate a development concept that proposes a 50 unit townhouse condominium development and six (6) affordable housing units, on a private loaded road connecting Foster Drive to the north with Little Avenue to the south.

Anyone can attend the meeting to share their views about this matter; however written submissions are encouraged and should be directed to Legislative & Court Services by Tuesday, March 31, 2020.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions to the Corporation of The City of Barrie before the Draft Plan of Subdivision and Rezoning is passed:

a)  The person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Corporation of The City of Barrie to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal ; and

b) May not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
