The Camp Access Program is a fee assistance program that provides eligible individuals 6–13 years of age the opportunity to participate in an exciting summer camp experience. The Camp Access Program differs from the recACCESS Program, which is applicable to all recreation programs and open to all ages.
How it Works
Eligible parents/guardians or school/social service organizations of youth aged 6–13 can apply for one week of camp which includes:
- Transportation
- A full week of camp activities at Base Camp (see details below)
- Lunch provided daily
Camp weeks are filled on a first-come first-served basis. A total of 20 camper spots are available per week.
About Base Camp
Base Camp is located at the Barrie Community Sports Complex (2100 Nursery Road, Midhurst). Campers will experience a traditional day camp, offering a unique balance of summer camp activities! Our camp schedule is filled with a variety of exciting activities including arts and crafts, sports and games, bushcraft, outdoor play, skill development, canoeing, archery, outdoor living skills and making memories to last a lifetime. Our focus is adventure, creativity, challenge, and fun in a safe & inclusive environment. Your camper will be physically active outdoors, acquire new skills, build self-confidence, and build lasting friendships.

- Week 1: July 6–10, 2026
- Week 2: July 13–17, 2026
- Week 3: July 20–24, 2026
- Week 4: July 27–31, 2026
- Week 5: August 10–14, 2026
- Week 6: August 17–21, 2026
Eligibility
All successful applicants meet the following criteria:
- Are a permanent full-time resident of Barrie.
- Have a total net household income under one of the following qualifying household net income limits:

How to Apply
Applications will be available online starting at 8am on March 24, 2026.
Applicants will be required to provide documentation confirming they meet the eligibility criteria. This may include letters of support from schools or social service organizations. Applications will be submitted online, and camp weeks will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and applicants will be notified once a decision has been made.
