It is illegal to conduct a lottery without a licence. Lottery Licensing Officers process, issue and regulate lottery licences to eligible charitable, not-for-profit or religious organizations for the conduct and management of lottery events.

The Lottery Licensing By-Law contains detail about the types of licences:
- Bingo Lottery Licence
- Media Bingo Licence
- Special Monster Bingo
- Break Open Ticket Licence
- Bazaar Licence
- Raffle Licence
How to Apply
Please review the Lottery Licensing By-Law to ensure you meet provincial criteria before you obtain an application form. Application fees are contained within the Fees By-law (Schedule B). Options to access a lottery licence application form:

Applications for a lottery licence must be submitted no later than 14 days prior to the first date on which the lottery event is to begin.
