The Infrastructure department includes: Linear Infrastructure Projects, Vertical Infrastructure, Developer & Special Projects, Water Operations, Wastewater Operations. The key responsibilities for each branch are listed on this page.

Design and Construction Branch

Did you know?  In 2023, 26 construction projects were tendered, 24 construction projects were completed, and progress continued on other multi-year projects. See the Design and Construction Branch 2023 highlights.

Operations Branch

Water Operations

The City's Water Operations team is responsible for:

  1. The treatment of raw water from drinking water sources.
  2. Ensuring the integrity of the distribution system which directs potable water from the source to your tap.
  3. Providing timely and high quality customer services that promote consumer confidence.

This includes:

  • Operation and maintenance of the Surface Water Treatment Plant, water supply wells and well treatment systems
  • Operation and maintenance of pump stations, water towers, transmission watermains, and the water distribution system
  • Installation, maintenance and inspection of water meters and remote reading devices
  • Locate services for municipal infrastructure
