(Barrie, ON) – The City of Barrie reminds residents of the following affected services, closures and activities happening on the Family Day holiday (Monday, February 16, 2026).
- City Hall will be closed for business on Family Day, but the rotunda will be open for Family Day activities. The rear parking lot of City Hall on Worsley Street will be closed for Family Day activities on February 16.
- Recreation/Community centres will be open regular operating hours on Family Day, with a full schedule of drop-in activities, including some FREE drop-in swims, skates and Family Zumba at selected community centres. For details visit barrie.ca/DropIns.
- Barrie Transit will operate according to a Sunday service schedule on February 16. Riders are encouraged to visit MyRideBarrie.ca to plan their trips.
- Curbside Collection: There will be no change to waste collection on Family Day in Barrie. Collection during the week of this holiday will occur as regularly scheduled for the week. Visit barrie.ca/CurbsideCollection for more information on curbside collection services.
