(Barrie, ON) – Nominations for the 2026 Barrie Arts Awards are open until Monday, August 10, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. These awards celebrate individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to the arts sector. Winners will be honoured at the annual gala on Tuesday, November 10, 2026.
Nominations are open for the following categories:
- Artist Beyond Barriers
- Business Champion
- Contribution to the Community
- Emerging Artist presented by Georgian College DVA
- Excellence in the Arts
- Most Promising Youth presented by Larissa Mair Casting & Associates
To make the process easier, third-party nominators are only required to provide basic information for nominations, with only one nomination required per nominee. Once the nomination period has closed, nominees will be contacted to provide additional information pertaining to the category in which they are nominated.
For all Barrie Arts Awards categories, nominees must work, live, attend school, exhibit or perform within Barrie. A nominee may be nominated for only one award per year. Past winners may not be nominated for the same award they won in a previous year but may be nominated for a different category.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available for organizations or businesses looking to raise their profile and support Barrie’s local arts community.
