Mapleton Park Pavement Upgrades

Project Type

Status
Substantially Completed

Upgrades within Mapleton Park were completed as part of the Pavement Management Program (road segments in the Cundles neighbourhood). The contract was awarded to Lisbon Paving Co. Limited. This work is part of City Council’s approved 2025 budget and aligns with Council’s strategic plan to update and improve City Infrastructure.

Project Updates

April 20, 2026

The City recently met with the contractor and Parks staff to review plans for reopening Mapleton Park. During the pathway repaving work, the concrete curb around the playground was replaced. This meant some of the playground sand had to be removed, and more sand needs to be added before the playground can safely reopen.

The ground is currently still too soft to bring in equipment. Doing so could damage the new pathway and the recently planted grass. Once the area has dried out, the Parks team will bring in the sand and reopen the park as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience while we complete this final step.
