TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Barrie has passed By-law Number 2026-018 on Wednesday, March 04, 2026 pursuant to the provision of Section 28(2) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 c. P.13.

AND TAKE NOTICE “that the written and oral submissions received relating to this application, have been, on balance, taken into consideration as part of the deliberations and final decision related to the approval of the application as amended, including matters raised in those submissions and identified within Staff Report ECD010-25”. 

THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of By-law Number 2026-018 is to designate the lands as a community improvement project area to facilitate an increase in employment and to accelerate the development of employment lands to attract and expand job creating businesses, and strengthen the City’s tax base, economic competitiveness, and long-term resiliency. IF YOU WISH TO APPEAL the decision of the City of Barrie to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) in respect to the By-law, you may do so within twenty (20) days of the issuance of this notice by filing a Notice of Appeal via the OLT e-file at https://olt.gov.on.ca/e-file-service/ by selecting [City of Barrie] as the Approval Authority or by mail to the City Clerk – City of Barrie, no later than 4:30 p.m. on or before Monday, April 06, 2026 . The filing of an appeal after 4:30 p.m., in person or electronically, will be deemed to have been received the next business day.
