The MTO's contractor will be closing a single eastbound lane of Dunlop Street from Hwy 400 to Anne Street. The closure is expected to be in place from 6am on Monday, September 22 until Friday, September 26 at 5pm. This closure is required to complete lane widening and storm sewer works.
August 26, 2025
The MTO's contractor has watermain work planned for Wednesday, August 27 that will impact traffic at the Dunlop and Anne intersection. The contractor will be implementing lane closures, traffic restrictions, and lane shifts on Dunlop Street West, Anne Street, and through the Dunlop/Anne intersection. One lane of traffic will be maintained in all directions throughout the work, however delays should be expected from 5am until 4pm. A paid duty police officer will be on site to assist with traffic control.
August 8, 2025
MTO's contractor, North Rock Group, a subcontractor of Dufferin Construction Ltd., have the following activities planned around the intersection of Dunlop and Anne during the week of August 11. Lane closures on Dunlop Street and Hart Drive will be required and a paid duty officer will be on site.
- Watermain Investigation: Localized work at the intersection is scheduled for Monday, August 11, between 9am and 3pm. The investigation is expected to take 2–3 hours within a confined 6mx6m area.
- Interim Watermain Tie-in at Hart & Dunlop: The tie-in on Hart (near the Hart & Dunlop intersection) is currently scheduled for Wednesday, August 13, during the day.
- Interim Watermain Tie-in at Dunlop & Anne: The results of the above investigation will confirm the timing of the watermain tie-in at the intersection, which is currently planned for the night of Thursday, August 14, from 9pm to 6am the next day. The night of Sunday, August 17 will be a contingency, if needed.
The final watermain tie-ins for both locations are scheduled for the week of August 18. Further details will be shared once confirmed.

The contractor's planned lane closure of one eastbound lane of Dunlop Street has been postponed by one week. A single eastbound lane will be closed from west of Hart Drive to Anne Street; anticipated lane closure dates are July 21–August 8. Access to businesses and pedestrian routes will be maintained. This lane closure is required for watermain work. Those impacted by any planned water outages will be provided notice in advance.

Work has begun on the Dunlop Street interchange with activity focused on the new northbound Highway 400 on-ramp and pre-staging work on Dunlop Street bridge and Highway 400.
The contractor will have one eastbound lane of Dunlop Street closed from west of Hart Drive to Anne Street; anticipated lane closure dates are July 14–August 1. Access to businesses and pedestrian routes will be maintained. This lane closure is required for watermain work. Those impacted by any planned water outages will be provided notice in advance.
May 5, 2025
The MTO has awarded the project to Dufferin Construction Company (Dufferin).
Dufferin will start their work on Dunlop Street next week. The overall project, which includes impacts to Dunlop Street and Highway 400 is expected to take four years to complete. The anticipated completion is fall 2028.
In the coming weeks, there will be intermittent traffic interruptions on Dunlop Street from Hart to Cedar Pointe, while the work zone is delineated over the existing bridge. Generally, traffic will be maintained along Dunlop Street throughout construction.
Project updates, including road closure information, will be provided as work progresses.

The MTO has communicated that the Design and Construction Report (DCR) is available for a 30-day public and external agency review period from September 12, 2024, to October 15, 2024. Interested persons are encouraged to review the DCR by October 15, 2024. The Project Team will respond to all comments generated during the 30-day public review.

The City's Dunlop Street Interchange Trunk Sanitary Relocation project was completed in June (MTO required the City to move the sewer so they can construct the new bridge).
MTO Utility Relocations are underway. All utility relocation work will involve lane shifts as they complete their work in the boulevards.
- Enbridge's relocations are mostly complete, the contractor on site is NPL. Some of their work has been pushed to be completed at night as they work within the Anne Street and Dunlop intersection.
- Alectra is currently doing their relocations along Hart Drive, Dunlop and Cedar Pointe Drive. The contractor doing the work is K-Line.
- Rogers will follow with their relocation works once Alectra has completed their pole relocations.
- Bell will start their relocations when the other utility companies have completed theirs.
