Eastview Community Park is located at 453 Grove Street East. The second phase of the park’s revitalization effort is underway.

Phase 1

Phase 1 incorporated new dedicated acrylic pickleball courts, completed in October 2022. The construction includes a four-court battery with seating and a pathway. There was minimal impact on the tennis courts, playground, and community gardens. Access remained to all park assets, fields and amenities throughout construction.

Phase 2

Phase 2 focuses on:

Redesigning the playground area with all new play equipment
Playground renderings are available below. View the play pod layout for details on the benefits of the various play structures.
Resurfacing the tennis court
Constructing a half court basketball facility
Providing lighting for the new pickleball courts
Providing a shade structure for gathering
Improving accessibility
Any additional site works that will improve usability of the space

Project Updates

April 23, 2026

The project has reached substantial completion and the park is now open to the public. The tennis courts are still closed until the acrylic topcoat is completed.

September 16, 2025
Construction is progressing at a steady pace. Although some material delays have occurred, the project is anticipated be substantially completed before the end of October should no further delays occur.
The central portion of the park remains closed to the public at this time. No unauthorized personnel are permitted within the fenced construction zone.
The soccer fields and arena, including the parking lot, remain open to the public; however, there remains no pedestrian throughway from Douglas Drive to the Eastview Arena until the project is completed.
June 2, 2025
The City's contractor has mobilized and fenced in the site to begin construction at Eastview Park.
The central portion of the park is now closed to the public for the full duration of construction, including the playground area, the tennis and pickleball courts, and some minor open space areas. The fenced in area is an active construction site; no unauthorized personnel are permitted within the fenced construction zone. There is no pedestrian throughway from Douglas Drive to the Eastview Arena until the project is completed. Construction is anticipated to be completed by fall 2025.
The soccer fields and arena, including the arena parking lot, remain open to the public.
May 22, 2025
The community garden has been removed from the park and is being relocated to Dunsmore Park.
Construction of the playground and site works is anticipated to begin June 2. This will be an active construction site and no unauthorized personnel will be permitted within the fenced construction zone.

March 7, 2025
Additional site improvements have been added to the Refined Final Design Concept. Planned improvements now include a new accessible playground, shade structure, pathway connections, tennis court surface restoration, pickleball court lighting, as well as a basketball half court.
Due to the scope of the improvements, the existing community garden will be closed and permanently relocated to Dunsmore Park .

Since the successful public engagement on the proposed design concepts for Eastview Park, the City has been working with your feedback to guide a final design that best facilitates the future playground improvements. Download the final design concept.
Construction is still anticipated to begin in spring 2025. Public use of the park will not be impacted in 2024.
