A solo Exhibition by Sheresha McIntyre

Join us for the opening reception of All These Pieces, a collage-based exhibit exploring healing through the practice of building new images from fragmented parts. Through colour, texture, and found materials, this body of work reflects Sheresha's processes  of healing through collage —and how its process can mirror recovery and self-reconstruction.

We invite you to come experience the exhibition, meet the artist, and engage with the stories and emotions carried through each piece.

About Sheresha Mcintyre.

Working predominantly with analog collage, artist, photographer, poet, and curator, Sheresha McIntyre has been able to express her take on many themes in each of her art disciplines. Themes such as fantasy, retro play, and the Black experience are presented in colourful abstract forms. McIntyre takes influences from plants, nature, Black culture/experience, and her own imagination to show how they mimic our "reality."

In 2020, McIntyre was awarded the #RisingYouth Community Service grant presented to her by TakingITGlobal in Toronto. She curated her own art exhibit called Loose Ends, which was held at The Art Gallery of Ontario (The AGO) in Toronto. Her exhibit featured both her artwork and the artwork of other local Toronto visual artists. Sheresha's work has also been exhibited at Innisfil Library, City of Barrie's First Floor Gallery, and is currently installed at local Innisfil business, Salon Rehoboth. Notably, she was recognized as one of the top three nominees in the Emerging Artist category at the Barrie Arts Awards.

With over 10 years in the creative arts industry, Sheresha is currently instructing collage workshops around Simcoe County at organizations such as Making Change,  UPlift Black and The MacLaren Art Centre. Some of Sheresha's most recent art installations can be found locally around Downtown Barrie at Michael & Marion's and The Side Door as part of the Brightening Barriers exhibition and the Cabinets to Canvas Program for 2026. 

Excited to continue challenging herself in her artistic approach, Sheresha aims for her art to resonate with her observers and leave a profound impression in their minds. She encourages them to be more playful in how they perceive the world, believing this mindset can lead to a better place for all.
