Don't replace it – repair it! At our Repair Cafés, you will find volunteer fixers who can work with you to repair your household items rather than sending them to the landfill. Repair Cafés are part of a worldwide movement towards creating a more sustainable society, building community connection and learning new skills.

Items that can be fixed depend on the skills of our volunteer fixers. Typically, they can help you repair:

  • Bicycles (Firebird Community Cycle will be onsite)
  • Toys
  • Lamps
  • Clothes (minor repairs and mending)
  • Small appliances

Registration is required for one of two time slots: 10:30–11am or 11:30am–1pm. This helps us know how many people and items to expect.

You're also invited to stop by the Waste Management table to ask questions about curbside collection, including carts, yard waste, textiles and proper sorting. City staff will be available to help answer questions and share tips on managing waste at home.

This program is offered in partnership with Living Green Barrie, Firebird Community Cycle, and BRIX Makerspace.
