The Allandale Recreation Centre (ARC) is one of the City's three main recreation centres and offers recreation programs, activities, and services. Check the current drop-in schedule and get the most for your recreation dollars by purchasing a Barrie recPASS for yourself and/or your family!

Did you know? Barrie residents can apply for their waterfront parking permit at Allandale Rec Centre by providing a vehicle ownership document and proof of address to info desk staff. (Staff at this location cannot process permits for non-residents.)

ARC Facility Hours

Hours may differ on stat holidays, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve. Please refer to the ARC drop-in schedule for applicable hours during those times.

  • 25-metre pool and toddler pool
  • Two arenas
    100' x 200' (international size) & 85' x 190'. Skate/equipment rentals or sharpening are not available at any City arena.
  • Hall
    Suitable for socials, meetings, banquets and weddings. Tables & chairs included. Size: 65' x 50'. Capacity: 225. Includes full kitchen.
  • Lower meeting room
    Size: 39' x 29'. Capacity: 60. Tables & chairs included.

The Barrie Sports Hall of Fame operates out of the Allandale Recreation Centre. The organization was established in 1985 to recognize the achievements of great athletes who have excelled in sport and called Barrie their home, and those selfless individuals who work to create an environment where these athletes can succeed. 

ARC Change Rooms

City recreation centres offer inclusive and accessible change rooms designed with all community members in mind. Five change rooms are open at ARC to fitness centre and pool patrons:

  • Universal
  • Male 18+ 
  • Female 18+
  • Boys under 18
  • Girls under 18

The universal change room is a safe and accessible space designed for community members of all abilities, gender identities, and religions, and provides an option for those who have family and group change room needs. The universal change room includes private change cubicles and private washroom stalls; clothing or swimsuits are required in all other areas.
