Circulation List

The Circulation List is a formal channel to communicate with Council. Circulation list items are reviewed by City Council and provided to media each week. 

Direct Motion

A motion introduced for the consideration of City Council which, due to time constraints, requires the immediate attention of City Council.

Item of Discussion

An item of business on a meeting agenda, which is not routine and may be contentious in nature or for which there has been an indication of public interest. Unless approved by the Mayor (if there is a matter of urgency, etc.), items of discussion are first considered by one of the City's reference committees, which study and report to General Committee on specific subject matters. Reference committees include:

• Affordability Committee
• Community Safety Committee
• Finance & Responsible Governance Committee
• Infrastructure & Community Investment Committee

Staff Report

A report prepared by City staff pertaining to a matter to be considered by committee or task force members at a meeting.
