The City is celebrating Earth Day on April 22! Drop by the City Hall Rotunda to engage with City staff and learn about the changes coming to curbside collection and transit.
Curbside Collection
Drop by to learn about the changes to curbside waste collectioncoming May 1, 2024. The City’s new waste collection contractor, Emterra, will be on site and one of their new waste collection trucks will be on display beside the City Hall parking lot.

Transit
Come and see what the City's Transit department is doing to mobilize our municipality by electrifying the Barrie Transit Fleet. Transit staff will present information on the two buses that are part of a pilot program. This pilot will guide the City’s transition from fully diesel buses to battery electric buses in support of Council’s initiative to reduce the City’s carbon emissions to net zero by 2050.
Transit staff will also speak to the transit improvements launching June 2, 2024, as part of the first phase of the New Transit Network. Join us for an opportunity to hear from staff on the upcoming changes and ask questions. Unable to make it to this session? Learn about the additional New Transit Network info sessions taking place.
