TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Barrie has passed By-law Number 2026-056 on Wednesday, June 03, 2026 pursuant to the provision of Section 34(18) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 c. P.13.

AND TAKE NOTICE that By-law Number 2026-056 is in accordance with Direction Number MDIR005-26, under Bill 3, the Strong Mayors, Building Homes Act, 2022, in accordance with subsections 284.11.1(1)(b) and 284.11.1(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001.

THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of By-law Number 2026-056 is to amend City of Barrie By-law Number 2009-141 to clarify and expand the provisions of the By-law that prohibit illegal uses.

A copy of the By-law is available for viewing in the office of the City Clerk between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

IF YOU WISH TO APPEAL the decision of the City of Barrie to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) in respect to the By-law, you may do so within twenty (20) days of the issuance of this notice by filing a Notice of Appeal via the OLT e-file at https://olt.gov.on.ca/e-file-service/ by selecting [City of Barrie] as the Approval Authority or by mail to the City Clerk – City of Barrie, no later than 4:30 p.m. on or before Thursday, July 02, 2026 . The filing of an appeal after 4:30 p.m., in person or electronically, will be deemed to have been received the next business day.
