Nature Play Day

Nature Play Days incorporates nature-based educational programming that offers a unique and immersive learning experience fostering a deep appreciation for the environment, while providing valuable educational opportunities. The City's Nature Play Trailer can be found in parks all around the City, offering free nature-based games and activities for kids and families. The trailer houses a variety of natural loose parts and is a mobile way to connect with the community. Working with our partners, the trailer brings environmental education and fun to you!

StoryWalk

Local author Angela Odusanya will be joining us for the unveiling of the StoryWalk featuring her book Amelia’s Loose Part Art: A Day at the Beach.

Angela is an Ontario Certified Teacher, Registered Early Childhood Educator, and creator of the Amelia’s Loose Part Art book series. Also known as “The Loose Parts Teacher,” she has over 24 years of experience working with children and is passionate about helping children develop the creativity, resourcefulness, and confidence they need to become innovative problem solvers.

Families are invited to walk through the story together and then bring the book to life by engaging in their own loose parts play at the beach. Angela will be on site throughout the event and will lead guided Storybook Walks with families at 11am and 1pm. Copies of all of her books will also be available for purchase and signing.
