(Barrie, ON) – The following City of Barrie services will be affected on Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1:
- Barrie Transit: On Tuesday, July 1, Barrie Transit will run on an extended Sunday service schedule, with the last buses departing the downtown Transit Terminal after Canada Day fireworks (approximately 10:30 pm) to help take residents home.
- Recreation/Community Centres will be closed on Tuesday, July 1.
- City Hall will be closed on Tuesday, July 1.
- Barrie’s landfill will be closed on Tuesday, July 1.
Service reminders:
- Curbside Collection: There will be no change to the waste collection schedule on Tuesday, July 1; curbside collection will occur as regularly scheduled. Visit barrie.ca/CurbsideCollection for more information on curbside collection services and to look up your collection schedule.
- Parking: Downtown parking (on-street and lots) is free on statutory holidays, including Tuesday, July 1. A digital waterfront permit is required to park for free at specific waterfront areas. Visit barrie.ca/parking for details.
- Fireworks reminder: Residents are permitted to use fireworks on the Canada Day holiday as per the Regulatory Matters By-law. Fireworks are permitted only until 11 p.m. on the day of the celebration, per the Noise By-law. Please review fireworks safety reminders at barrie.ca/FireworksSafety.
