About the Proposed Development

SmartCentres REIT submitted application for Official Plan Amendment, Amendment to the Zoning By-law and Draft Plan of Subdivision to facilitate the development of blocks for commercial/industrial use, an elementary school, 155 semi-detached and townhouse units, and two blocks for future apartment buildings. The overall design of the subject property also includes the Bryne Drive South Extension, a public park, two stormwater management ponds, and blocks to protect the existing natural heritage features. The existing hydro easement and the Highway 400 road widening are also accommodated in the design.

A Temporary Use By-law application for 15 Harvie Road is under review to permit agriculture (field crop only) on the subject lands as an interim use until development proceeds.
